Getting existing or purchased data into ACT! is key to leveraging that valuable asset!

Existing data or purchased data has significantly less value if it is not entered into ACT!  Although ACT! has robust data import functionality, many times the data is not in a preferred form for import.  Manual data entry is very expensive and subjects the data for the potential of entry errors. 

Examples of data issues:

The Contact name may be separated into pieces like: Honorific Title (Mr., Mrs., ...); First Name; Middle Initial; Last Name; Suffix (Jr., M.D., ...).  ACT! prefers that the contact name be contained in one piece of data.  Often in this case only the First Name and Last Name are imported resulting in a loss of key, relationship building information. 

A Purchased list often comes in all uppercase letters.  All capital letters look fine on an address label but merged in a letter or printed on an envelope reduces your correspondence to the status of junk mail.
